About

Head-quartered in Singapore, East West Power Ltd (EWP) was formed in March 2001 and has rapidly developed as one of the World’s leading sourcing, valuation and supplier of surplus and “advance-order” power plant and related equipment. Most of the key personel have been involved in Power related contracts for over 30 years and were directly invovled in the design and build of the World renowned Victoria series of Power Barges.

EWP provides a prompt and effective response on inquiries for power plant and prime movers – gas & steam turbines, diesel engines, hydro turbines, etc. – along with ancillaries, such as transformers. EWP also has strategic alliances with several major suppliers probably giving them the largest data base world wide.

The Company can also provide the manpower required for project development, feasibility studies, asset and surplus equipment valuation, environmental impact assessment (EIA), engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning and eventual de-commissioning, dismantling and removal/recycling of such facilities usually on a contract basis.

EWP engineers were previously with Sabah Shipyards who built 8 power barges (totaling over 620 MW) . Through associated design company in Singapore the expertise of these engineers is retained.

During February 2001, EWP were awarded a contract by M.P.I of Houston to prepare a detailed study of the World’s Power Barge Market. This study was completed in March and also involved the preparation of a database listing all the World’s power barges.

In June 2007 East West Power was appointed by a major Hedge Fund to perform inspections and market valuation on the Victoria 8 Power Barge (48 MW, W251 in Kenya): As EWP engineers had built the units their knowledge was invaluable. As a result of this report the unit was purchased.

In May 2007 EWP were appointed by the same Hedge Fund to perform inspection and market valuation report on the Victoria One (115 MW, W501D5 Gas Turbine power barge in Dominican Republic): Again as a result of the report the unit was purchased and moved to Venezuela.
